Everyone agrees that healthcare issues are among the most complex topics facing Americans today. As consumers, people are concerned about the healthcare they have now and what tomorrow will bring. As community members and citizens, they want to be confident that healthcare changes will serve the best interests of society at large.
That’s why the Center for Healthcare Decisions exists. We raise questions where there are no easy answers, and we ask the public to wrestle with thorny issues. We want policy leaders to understand how average people express priorities and values – the elements that should be cornerstones for a fair and sustainable system. We work collaboratively with other stakeholders who also want to improve healthcare policy and practice.
Finally, we recognize that healthcare resources are limited, and an informed and engaged public has a critical role in helping decide how society allocates its resources. |
